KATIE'S STORY

I was shopping for my daughter's school clothes on a warm August afternoon. I had my purse and was focused on balancing several packages as I walked to my car in an upscale mall's parking lot.

As I juggled the packages and opened my car door, a man grabbed my arm and started pushing me into the car. I screamed as I threw the packages into his face. I then started swinging my purse at him with all my might as I continued screaming at the top of my lungs. The man stopped pushing me and ran away.
